The Blue Mountain Reservoir supplies water for 4,200 Village connections and 5,500 Town connections. It is located in the Town of Saugerties and it provides much of the water supply that is managed by the Village of Saugerties.
It has a capacity of 10 million gallons.
It is about 600 feet long and about 425 feet wide and takes in water from the Plattekill Creek.
It is a situated in a beautiful area of Saugerties known as Blue Mountain, and the reservoir and its surroundings are much photographed.
