The Kiwanis Ice Arena features an 85 foot by 190 foot Olympic-size, fully-enclosed, refrigerated ice rink. The rink accommodates all age levels, and is used for recreational skating, instructional skating, promotional events/activities, tournaments, and youth and adult leagues. It is fully enclosed with a 120' x 235' Titan series structure . . . the largest of its type in the Northeast, complete with professional Metal Halide Lighting and Desiccant Dehumidification with return hot air heating for the comfort of spectators in the seating area.

 

The Kiwanis Ice Arena is yet another example of why Saugerties is regarded as a community that offers many recreational possibilities for people of all ages.

  • Large locker rooms with showers

  • Fully enclosed, however, the area of the ice is not heated. Dress appropriately.
  • Annually, many activities and programs are offered for the enjoyment of all. Some of these include, but are not limited to: Ice Dance Shows and Ensembles, Ice Plays, Youth & Adult Hockey Games, Albany River Rats (NHL New Jersey Devils affiliate) Clinic & Scrimmage, New York Rangers / Islanders Sled Hockey Team Clinic & Game, Holiday activities, including Santa arriving via the Zamboni,

Public Fees:

  • Adults $6.00
  • Students $4.00

Drop-in hockey

  • Adults $8.00
  • Students $6.00**

 

**Denotes students up to and including High School.

Skate sharpening $5.00


Skate rentals $3.00


Many hours of open public skating available weekly. Season passes available. Fees and schedule are subject to change, so please call ahead to ensure availability.

 

Birthday parties available with the public for $145, and private parties are available at set times for $170.


Private ice bookings (beyond the set times designated for private parties) are still available at $190.00 per hour. Call for details.


Award

In December of 2005, the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority awarded the Ice Arena Facility $49,961.00 in incentives for the installation of the recommended energy efficient measures and upgrades. Hours:

Open daily August through April, except Thanksgiving & Christmas, for Ice Skating

 


Open mid April – August for inline skating, birthday parties, group outings, shows, festivals, and many other activities and events.  

 

Hours vary depending on activities and day of week, so please call ahead to be sure of availability.
