Biography:

Jeannine Mayer is a lifelong resident of Saugerties.  She has two daughters, three granddaughters and one grandson. Jeannine graduated from Saugerties High School and Ulster County Community College, and holds an Associate in Applied Science degree in business administration.

 

Jeannine has been employed in the banking industry for 32 years.  She started with Saugerties National Bank as a teller.  With Chase Manhattan Bank she worked in both the loan and mortgage departments.  Her current position with M&T bank is as a Relationship Manager.

 

She was a member of the Saugerties Jayncees, holding the offices of Secretary and Vice-President.  She volunteered on various committees that served the community, such as 4th of July, RIF (Reading is Fundamental), and Buckle Up Babes.  She also served as Treasurer of the Cahill PTA.

 

Currently Jeannine is the immediate Past President of the Kiwanis Club of Saugerties.  She also held the office of Vice-President and President, and since 2003 has been the site coordinator of the Hudson Valley Garlic Festival.  Other committees within Kiwanis include July 4th, Karing for Kids, and Community Needs. 
 

When not involved in these organizations, Jeannine enjoys spending time with her family, taking in movies, reading, gardening, and decorating.

 


Responsibilities:

During her first year of service on the Village Board of Saugerties her area of responsibility was overseeing Buildings and Grounds and participation on the Historic Review Board.  Jeannine also investigated and enrolled the Village in the MEGA program, which offers municipalities lower utility prices.

 

Jeannine is presently responsible for speciall events, public relations, TV23 (shared with Suzanne LeBlanc) and is the Village Board liaison to the Saugerties Area Chamber of Commerce.  She also serves on the Village Revolving Loan Committee.
