4th of July Parade and Fireworks

11 a.m. Parade in village. The Fourth of July Parade will be held on Friday, July 4 at 11 a.m. on Washington Ave. Line-up starts at 10 a.m at the Saugerties High School. A veteranís division has been organized to pay tribute to all World War II veterans on the 70th anniversary. All World War II and Korean War veterans are invited to be part of the parade, riding in jeeps, cars or trucks of the WWII era and itís expected that each veteran will be announced as they pass the reviewing stand. All veteranís posts, detachments or units of any kind from the surrounding counties are invited to march with their post colors. Korean veterans may choose to be part of a Korean War group or remain with their home post, and posts with members unable to march may bring a car for them to ride in.


2 and 5 p.m.  This Circus has been called off, according to the Saugerties Police Department. Circus at Cantine Field. The Cole Bros. Circus will present two shows at Cantine Field. The dynamic 130th anniversary edition of the circus celebrates the greatest acts from circus history and the rising stars of todayís American circus. Elephants and acrobats along with tigers and teeterboard tumblers all take their turns in the spotlight. Mexicoís ďAngels in the AirĒ leave audiences breathless as they soar high above the ring on the flying trapeze. Motorcycle daredevils risk life and limb at breakneck speeds in the ThunderDrome, with the zany Cole Bros. Clown Crew arriving in the nick of time to provide comic relief. The legendary Human Cannonball adds an explosive finish to every show. Tickets cost $16-$28 for adults. Free tickets for children under age 13 are available at


9:30 p.m.   The fireworks at Cantine Field, originally planned for Friday, July 4th, have been moved to Saturday, July 5th.  Same Cantine Field location.
