The Saugerties Farmers Market was established in 2002 to help stem the loss of farmland by addressing the economic needs of farmers and to support the historic village business center of Saugerties.
The market season (May (Memorial Day weekend) - October (Halloween weekend)) is on Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., 2 blocks from the Main/Partition intersection . . . in the Cahill School Parking Lot, next to the historic Kiersted House (115 Main Street).
The market has a wide variety of produce including organic vegetables; luscious orchard fruits and berries; artisan bread; fresh laid eggs; delicious honey, jams & sauces; pasture raised poultry & meat; fish and seafood straight off the boat; mushrooms; wine; fresh herbs; field-grown flowers and tasty local cheeses. Products change seasonally. Take home freshly harvested food grown, picked, and brought to market by local farmers.
In addition to a wide variety of market goods, you'll also experience chef demonstrations, free tastings and recipes.
Music in the Market includes weekly live music programmed by John Street Jam's Steve Massardo.
Kids Art Corner is every week, created by local artist Anita Barbour. Check the Saugerties Farmers Market calendar for Special Events throughout the market season.
Everyone's free to come roam the market.
