ATTENTION VILLAGE & TOWN WATER CONSUMERS
The Village water department in conjunction with the Town water department will begin to flush hydrants and blow-offs. This may result in discolored water.  The work will continue throughout the weeks starting June 5, 2016 through the 16th with most of the work being done from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.  If you have a problem please call the Town at 246-8671 or the Village at 246-8958 depending on your provider.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

What is a “blow-off” you might ask.

Blow-off assemblies are found at points in the Village water system where pipes end.

Because there’s no circulation through these points, these locations also hold the “oldest” water in the system. That old water is the most vulnerable to bacterial growth or change in taste.

As part of our flushing program, the Village includes flushing out “old” amounts of water in the system through blow-off assemblies, in addition to the flushing of fire hydrants.
