The Code Enforcement Official reviews all applications submitted for regulatory applicability to the New York State Building Codes (1/1/2003) and the Local Law(s) for the jurisdictional area of the Village of Saugerties. The Code Enforcement Officers issues Building Permits, Demolition Permits, Certificates of Occupancy/Use and Compliance Certificates and monitors, inspects and approves construction site phases (footers, foundations, framing, plumbing, occupancy change/use, etc.)
The Compliance Officer is also responsible for the periodic Fire, Safety and Code Inspections on multiple housing units and commercial structures.
Issuance of official addresses for new residences in the Village of Saugerties is also governed by this officer, with Ulster County Approval.
