Friends of Historic Saugerties is pleased to present a talk by local author Vernon Benjamin entitled,  “Notable Women in Hudson Valley History.”  Vernon Benjamin is an adjunct lecturer who has taught Hudson Valley history, art history and writing at Marist College, and has taught at Bard College as well.  He was a journalist for 15 years and an aide to Assemblyman Maurice Hinchey in the New York State legislature from 1982-92.  He currently serves as Special Operations Coordinator for his hometown of Saugerties, New York.  His most current books include: The History of the Hudson River Valley: From Wilderness to the Civil War (2014) and The History of the Hudson River Valley: From the Civil War to Modern Times (2016).   Overlook Press, New York
